Christian Preaching: How Can We Be Free From the Bondage of Sin?

The Lord Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I say to you, Whoever commits sin is the servant of sin. And the servant stays not in the house for ever: but the son stays ever” (John 8: 34–35). The Lord’s words tell us that if people cannot rid themselves of the bondage and shackles of sin, and they continue to commit sins, then they are the servants of sin and shall never enter the kingdom of God. Reading this passage of Scripture, many faithful brothers and sisters will think of how they sin in the day only to confess at night, and so they will worry that they live in sin and cannot enter the kingdom of God, and they will be anguished in their hearts. They believe in the Lord, so why can’t they rid of themselves of sin? Just how can we rid ourselves of the shackles of sin? We will now fellowship on this aspect of the truth. The main character was born into a Catholic family and was baptized at the age of 13. He starts to pursue the priesthood to serve God and studies at a seminary for ten years to achieve this goal. But even though he has sworn himself to chastity, he is always thinking about getting married and having a family. He is worried about always wanting to go back on his vow, that he is sinning and being dishonest with God, so he won’t be able to get into the kingdom of heaven. The main character finds that, when things go awry, she just can’t help but lose her temper and scold others, and she can’t keep the Lord’s teachings. Her inability to extricate herself from living in sin is really painful for her, so she consults with her pastor but still can’t find a solution. She seeks out a friend of hers who has accepted Almighty God‘s work. After reading Almighty God’s words and listening to the experiential testimony of brothers and sisters from The Church of Almighty God, she finally understands that undergoing God’s work of judgment in the last days is imperative to be freed from the bonds of sin, be cleansed, and enter the kingdom of heaven. After Liang Zhi believed in God, he consistently sought with enthusiasm, and threw himself into fulfilling his duties. After a number of years, he was elected as a church leader. During the time that he performed his duties as a church leader, he realized that some of the brothers and sisters were more competent than he, which made him unhappy to the extent that he was jealous of them. In order to save face and protect his status, he secretly competed with them to see who was better, and he scrambled for fame and status.
